Chardonnay 2009
Tasting Notes:
Sourcing grapes from four, premium Chardonnay vineyards allows for considerable flexibility in blending a championship wine. Some contribute spiciness and others show expressive fruit flavours. Barrel-fermented using three distinct yeast cultures and barrel-aged for 10 months in a blend of French and American oak. Full malolactic fermentation delivers a hint of creamy texture. The nose opens up with vanilla, butterscotch and citrus. The palate suggests fresh berries, lemon pastry, a hint of marzipan and tropical secondary flavours like dried mango with a long finish. Recommended pairing with rich, soft cheese, crab cakes, veal or butternut squash ravioli.
Vintage Report
A challenging winter reduced the crop, but the remaining fruit excelled during the long, dry growing season. September’s picture perfect weather with 20 days of 20° Celsius temperatures propelled our Chardonnay harvest to produce ripe, wonderfully developed fruit. Sourced from four vineyards in Oliver, Cawston and Naramata over a period of several weeks, contributed to a complexity of flavour profiles and aromas with excellent balance of sweetness and acidity.

2004 Chardonnay
Anthony Gismondi | Vancouver Sun & Wine Access Magazine, September 2005
Light butter and creamy lees notes mixed with jasmine, canned peach and grapefruit aromas. The entry is round and fat, the palate soft but fresh with grapefruit rind, mineral, green apple, buttery, honey flavours. Crisp and round with some finesse, a buttery mineral Chablis-style. Well done.

Elegant aromas of golden toasty apple and lemon oil lead into full silky flavours of apple and ripe peach. A luxuriant white.
2007 Chardonnay
Wine Guys | Vancouver Province, April 23, 2009
Their 2007 Chardonnay was released after a long process of barrel fermentation, nine months' aging in French and American oak, and six months spent maturing in the cellar. The end result is drinking very nicely now. With tropical fruit complemented by fig and toasty oak, it leans to the richer side of the Chardonnay spectrum, with a nice baking-spice finish.
Rating: Kenji: B+ "Oak-forward, in a good way." & James: A- "Charming Chard."
2007 Chardonnay
Beppi Crosariol | Globe & Mail, September 11, 2010
When the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh toured Eastern Canada in June and July, they were served, among other things, a 2007 chardonnay from Township 7. Lucky them. The Naramata, B.C. winery produces excellent wines from both the south Okanagan Valley and from vineyards around Langley, southeast of Vancouver.
2009 Chardonnay
Tim Pawsey | North Shore News, April 18, 2011
Complex with fruit from Black Sage, Township 7 Naramata, Oliver and Cawston, 10 months in French and American oak. This wine punches well above its price, with a vanilla-citrus toned nose followed by complex layers of creamy butterscotch and tropical notes with good acidity and mouthfeel, wrapped in well managed oak. Think crab or lobster pasta dishes.
