Viognier 2009
Tasting Notes:
Viognier is a fickle grape that must be picked at the optimum time in order to develop the full extent of its flavours and aromas. This Rhone varietal begins with a clean nose of lemon, anise, fresh grass and herbal scents and is truly delicious with lemon and honey flavours and tropical spice notes. Try it with creamy pastas, fruit salsas with grilled fish or chicken, or spicy Asian dishes, which can be delightfully appetizing with Viognier.
Vintage Report
A challenging winter reduced the crop, but the remaining grapes excelled during the long, dry growing season. September’s picture perfect weather with 20 days of 20° Celsius temperatures enabled our Viognier harvest to be picked in early October, with full, round clusters of aromatic fruit.

2009 Viognier

You'll love the fragrant and fresh aromas of this Viognier - it has muscaty aromas with apricot and peaches, tangerine peel and honey with plenty of citrus blossom notes. The palate is crisp and snappy - zesty citrus and stone fruit flavours are underscored with sweet spice that lingers across the finish. Pair this wine with spiced crab cakes or creamy pasta dishes
