Get Wilde at the Winery: Enjoy “An Ideal Husband” this Summer

An Ideal Husband for only $20? It is possible in Naramata and Langley for the next few weeks!  We’ve partnered with a local theatre company for the second year on one of Oscar Wilde’s most enduringly popular comedic plays.

First produced over a century ago in London, Wilde was arrested a few months after the premiere due to his notoriously unconventional lifestyle. Taking place in late Victorian England, the comedy centers around sex, blackmail and political corruption. Set over the course of 24 hours, the play is a brilliant mix of farce and morality, satirizing the conventions and social hypocrisy of the time.

Performances run from the end of July to mid-August for only $20 per ticket with partial proceeds from sales in support of Rotary Okanagan International Children’s Festival and other local charities. Alfresco picnics and wines by the glass will be available for purchase. (No other alcoholic beverages are permitted on the premises).

We encourage you to arrive early and enjoy a picnic along with our award-winning wines. Performances at Township 7 will be held amongst the vines at our picturesque Okanagan and Fraser Valley wineries:

Naramata: July 29-30 & August 5-6, 2011

South Langley: August 12-13, 2011
