The 2018 Reserve 7 is crafted in a classic “Right-bank” style, this wine was primarily made with grapes from our estate Blue Terrace Vineyard in
Oliver where we chose Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon with rich, ripe fruit flavours. These were complimented by Cabernet Franc from Sunshine Acres in Oliver and the Raju vineyard in Osoyoos. In addition, small amounts of Merlot from Front Yard in Naramata completed the final blend. This vintage abounds with black cherry, raspberry, plum, eucalyptus, and lavender aromas. A smooth palate follows on this well-structured wine, displaying bold blackcurrant, cedar box and vanilla characteristics.
The 2018 NBO is a delightful “Left-bank” style blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, which perfectly displays the terroir of our estate Blue Terrace vineyard in North Bench Oliver. Its stony soils retain heat throughout the cool September and October evenings allowing the Cabernet Sauvignon to thoroughly ripen. Approximately one-third Merlot, the varietal adds subtlety and softness to the structure of the Cabernet. This vintage has heady aromas of cassis, dark cherry and cocoa. The sumptuous palate displays rich black fruit up front and finishes with caramel and firm tannins. Decanting recommended before serving to release aromatics and soften palate.
The 2017 Black Dog was crafted through individual choice barrel selection of over 400 barrels, of which 7 were new, to ensure it remains our iconic wine. Through this selection our winemaker determined that a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and a splash of Malbec and Petit Verdot delivered the finest combination, balancing fruit, aromatics, tannins and mouthfeel. A powerful red blend with intense aromas of sweet black cherries, molasses, cassis, leather and tobacco. The rich palate follows through with dark fruits and robust yet ripe tannins. A fantastic wine for intimate dinner parties!
