A medium-bodied wine with plentiful raspberry fruit expression and a sweet spice bouquet. Flavours of cherry, plum and cranberry. Try with robust soups, charcuterie, rotisserie chicken, thick cut pork chops, lamb stew or smoked cheeses. Will cellar well through 2017. Unfiltered.
Fairly challenging off-season weather conditions created lower yields of 2.5 tons per acre in an otherwise good growing year. Fermented with two Rhone yeasts to promote a traditional Côtes du Rhône flavour profile. Barrel-aging in French and American oak for 19 months contributed a smooth and supple finish.
A slow start to the growing season in 2010 saw a late but good fruit set. The unseasonably cool summer was free of heat spikes with a dry and sunny autumn enabling excellent flavour development. The smaller crop provided added value in taste and ripeness.
